Moderate water requirements once established. In garden beds, it thrives in well-drained, acidic soil. Adding a layer of mulch helps retain moisture during dry periods. Avoid fertilising young Waratah plants at planting—allow them to establish before applying a slow-release native fertiliser. For container-grown plants, use a premium native potting mix and water daily during the growing season. Once settled, feed with a slow-release native fertiliser to support healthy growth and flowering.
