Tobisho A-Type Secateurs—a blend of tradition and excellence. Hand-forged in the classic A-Type style by Tobisho, these pruners feature exceptionally high-quality Aogami #2 Hitachi Blue Paper Steel blades laminated to S45-C handles, creating a truly divine tool. While blue steel in secateurs is uncommon, Tobisho has introduced a special batch with laminated blue steel blades for unparalleled sharpness and edge retention. Handle them with care, as blue steel is harder and more brittle than other steels, but the results are worth it. The secateurs come with Tobisho's distinctive red and yellow vinyl grips, which can be removed for a more traditional look.

Care Instructions

To prevent rust from developing, we advise that you wipe dry and apply Camellia Oil after use.

Sharpening after a period of use is advised to ensure your tools stay in good condition.
We recommend using the Niwaki Sharpening Stone #1000 as it’s best for general sharpening.

Tips:
• Do not cut wire, metal, stone, plastic or any other hard material.
• Use the base of the blades, not the tips, for heavier cuts.
• Remove leaf resin, rust and gunk with a crean mate and water.
• Dry, wipe over with Camellia Oil and store in a dry place.
• Sharpen Snips & Secateurs every couple of weeks.

Important Update for SA, NSW, ACT & QLD Customers

Due to updated Government biosecurity requirements, all orders containing potted plants must now undergo treatment and inspection for Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP) prior to dispatch.

As this process has recently been introduced, some orders may experience slightly longer processing times while these procedures are implemented and streamlined during early 2026.

We kindly ask customers in the affected states to allow additional time for dispatch. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

QLD Orders

To meet treatment and inspection scheduling, orders must be placed by 12pm Friday to be shipped the following Tuesday. Orders received after this time will be dispatched the subsequent week.

A $5.00 quarantine inspection surcharge applies to orders delivered to QLD to cover the additional inspection and compliance requirements.
